The City of Peoria is searching for an energetic, self-driven person to join the Butler Water Reclamations Operations Team.

The Butler Water Reclamation Facility is a 10 MGD Membrane Bioreactor Facility. This position is the second level in the classification of Wastewater Treatment Plant Operations, The purpose of this position is to monitor, operate, and perform preventative maintenance of treatment plants and remote sites.

This is accomplished by performing routine inspections and identifying issues on processes and equipment at the Butler WRF and the Influent Pump Station.

Other duties may include completing related tasks as assigned by the Lead Operator or Supervisor. Butler Plant operates 24 hours a day 7 days a week;

shift work, weekends, holidays, standby duties and call back duty is required.

The ideal candidate for this position will have :

  • A strong desire to learn new and advanced wastewater treatment technology
  • Become a team player and willing to do what it takes to get the job done, gets along well with others
  • A current Grade 3 or higher certification in Wastewater Treatment Certification from the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality or previous experience in the same or similar position.
  • Or have a current certification from another state with reciprocity acceptable to Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ)

Minimum Requirements :

  • Education : High school graduation or equivalency
  • Experience : 2-4 years' experience. Considerable previous experience required in the same or similar previous positions
  • Physical Demands : Work requires heavy physical exertion and effort. Forces exerted are equivalent to lifting between 25 and 50 pounds.

The need for physical stamina and endurance is great.

Licenses and Certifications :

  • Valid Arizona Class "D" Driver's license upon hire
