Job Summary
Reporting to the Global Vice President of Operational Excellence, the Global Director of Manufacturing Optimization is accountable for the development of a network map for manufacturing facilities and consolidation plans that align with the business strategies.
The Global Director of Manufacturing Optimization will lead a team of regionally based project managers who are responsible for coordinating multi-disciplinary teams to execute and complete large-scale projects that align with the business strategy and goals for Lubrizol.
Essentials Duties and Responsibilities :
- Develop business footprint optimization project strategy.
- Direct and support global project managers to ensure delivery of on time / on budget projects, while remaining aligned with strategy, commitments, and goals of Lubrizol.
- Develop and present monthly update to the executive leadership and CEO.
- Responsible for all build, transfer, and closure plant projects globally.
- Creation and maintenance of the network map and capital classification plan with approval through the leadership team.
- Creation and maintenance of the plant closure handbook.
- With support from manufacturing technology which will select the most effective technologies, create the automation and advanced manufacturing plan which will outline where and when these technologies will be put in place (Creation and maintenance of the advanced manufacturing survey).
- Manage and align stakeholders from the business and the operations and provide risk / reward trade-off to business groups for decisions.
- Communicate and escalate risks that could impact objectives and deliverables.
Skills, Qualifications, Experience :
- Proven track record of global project management experience, and leading project management teams.
- Experience with developing a footprint strategy.
- Experience in plant closures and product transfers, particularly where customer or regulatory approvals are required.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in business, engineering, or program management.
- 15+ years of combined business and Operations / Manufacturing experience.
Considered A Plus :
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
- Chemicals or coatings experience
- Expertise in using Planview or MS Project
