The Ohio State University Medical Center is committed to enhancing the quality of care provided to patients. Under the general supervision of the Clinical Manager and Director of Ambulatory Rehabilitation therapy aide is a team member responsible for assisting staff physical / occupational therapists in their treatment of assigned patients.
All patient care duties performed require supervision by a therapist. The therapy aide is a member of the Ambulatory Rehabilitation department and is an important assistive component of the interdisciplinary medical team that strives to return the patient to his / her highest level of functional independence.
The therapy aide assists in treatment of patients on assigned rotations, in addition to providing cross coverage of the Rehabilitation division's other locations / sites (Acute, Dodd Acute Inpatient, Outpatient Clinics), as need dictates.
Duties relating to routine operation of the rehabilitation department, including department cleanliness, monitoring of equipment and supply inventories, maintenance and patient transportation may also be responsibilities of the aide.
This position works under the direct supervision of the Clinical Manager.
Minimum Qualifications
High School graduate or equivalent. 0 years of relevant experience required. 0-2 years of relevant experience preferred.
Per Civil Service Requirements. Within 6 months of hire obtains American Heart Association Friends and Family emergency recognition or BLS certification.
Meets mandatory education and health requirements. Demonstrates competency in technical skills, interpersonal / interdepartmental relations, and cognitive skills to meet essential job functions. Maintains BLS.
