Job Overview
The R&D Technician is a hands-on role that supports the design, development, and testing of the company's innovative products. You will be working side-by-side with Engineering and Manufacturing. This position reports to the Senior Engineer Manager.
Responsibilities & Deliverables include, but are not limited to :
- Fabrication of catheter-based subassemblies and full assemblies
- Device testing including validation testing.
- Troubleshooting device material and assembly issues
- Generate functional prototype from design concepts and assist the transfer of R&D product
- build to manufacturing.
- Support product builds through all R&D project phases, providing feedback on assembly
- process.
- Perform testing to support design, process, and equipment validation.
- Prepare test samples (products / materials / solutions) for routine and qualification testing.
- Support the building and assembly of prototypes.
- Identify issues as they arise and assist in troubleshooting of procedures and / or instruments.
- Execute re-work and inspection of components and assemblies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma and at least 2 years of medical device technician or manufacturingexperienceAbility to work independently and follow detailed instructions.Experience in working with different adhesives and other bonding methods.Ability to read and follow manufacturing and test procedures.Experience performing tasks under a microscope.Working knowledge of catheter based medical devices.Comfortable in a clean room.Effective communication skills.Able to maintain a clean and orderly workspace.
