About the Role

The Database / System Administrator manages and administers the MLFF system, ensuring consistency with MLFF System requirements and the quality and security standards. The Database / System Administrator participates in defining and implementing the MLFF system chosen databases and software packages.

Duties and Essential Job Responsibilities

Administration

• Defines the database implementation approach.
• Coordinates the creation of the databases in conjunction with the relevant system administrators and project managers.
• Implements database management solutions and then adapts, administers, and maintains them to meet and exceed the availability and performance requirements of the MLFF system.
• Coordinates with the Database Analyst the setup and management of data servers (administration, automation, procedural development, security, and access authorization, optimization of data processing and queries, etc.).
• Develops and implements data administration policies, standards, and models.
• Documents data requirements, data collection, and administration policy, data access rules, and security.
• Develops policies and procedures for network and / or Internet database access and usage and for the backup and recovery of data.
• As required, creates specific tools to support the operation of the MLFF system.
