Hamilton Nursing Home is seeking an Activities Assistant to join our skilled nursing facility in Hamilton, MI!
The Activities Assistant would conduct activities for residents under the direction of the Director of Activities.
- Rate : $16 / hr
- Full-time Day Shift : 8 : 30 am - 4 : 30 pm
Responsibilities :
The Activities Assistant is responsible for ensuring that the emotional, recreational, and social needs of the residents are met and maintained on an individual basis.
Assist residents in performing daily living activities, such as writing letters, making phone calls, and registering to vote.Maintain accurate records of residents’ progress and participation in activities.Support facility operations by assisting with mail delivery, escorting residents to activity programs, and caring for plants, pets, or fish.Help prepare materials for facility newsletters, fund-raising events, and make morning announcements over the P.A. system.Implement or facilitate activity programs designed to provide entertainment, social engagement, exercise, relaxation, and opportunities for creative expression, as planned by the Activities Director.Provide residents with necessary craft supplies, materials, and equipment, and supervise them during creative activities.Encourage residents to utilize their skills and potential in crafts, painting, and other expressive activities to promote social, psychological, and spiritual well-being.Qualifications :
Graduate of an accredited high school or GED preferred.Previous long-term care or experience working with the elderly or disabled is desirableMust be 18+ to applyLicensed CENA preferredBenefits :
