We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to act as a subject-matter expert supporting diverse engineering and manufacturing programs. This role contributes to product design, development, and optimization efforts across aerospace, automotive, and defense-related projects. You will help shape future engineering and manufacturing strategies while supporting customers through technical guidance and solution development.
What You'll Do
Lead the creation and refinement of 3D Technical Data Packages (TDPs) to support part procurement and manufacturing.
Analyze production processes, control plans, schedules, and manufacturing methods to determine future needs.
Participate in audits to evaluate supplier capabilities and alignment with design requirements.
Work cross-functionally with supply chain, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve design, manufacturing, and procurement challenges.
Support initiatives in Industry 4.0, digital factory development, model-based enterprise, advanced manufacturing, and additive manufacturing.
Produce accurate technical documentation, including analyses, reports, and engineering presentations.
Review manufacturing instructions and processes to identify improvements in efficiency and quality.
Develop strategy documentation and standardized processes to streamline TDP development.
Provide real-time engineering support to suppliers on feasibility and manufacturability questions.
Evaluate production run results to validate “as-designed” versus “as-manufactured” outcomes.
Work closely with program management, technical teams, and customer groups to achieve project milestones.
Solve technical issues, manage deliverables, and take ownership of corrective actions.
Collaborate with end users to diagnose and resolve engineering challenges.
What You Bring
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
4+ years of relevant engineering experience.
Proficiency in CAD tools (Creo or SolidWorks preferred).
Strong understanding of GD&T.
Experience with design, manufacturing, and testing of machined, forged, cast, or fabricated parts.
Knowledge of design for manufacturing, assembly, cost, and reliability.
Strong project management and time-management skills.
Ability to lead small, cross-functional engineering teams.
Strong verbal communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder-engagement skills.
Ability to travel up to 50%, depending on customer needs.
Must be clearable and US Citizen.
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of team lead or project management experience.
Master's degree in a related engineering discipline.
PE license or equivalent certification.
LEAN, Six Sigma, or similar process credentials.
Experience using project planning tools.
