The University of Maryland School of Nursing (UMSON) is currently seeking a part-time
doctorally-prepared Assistant or Associate Professor in the Department of Organizational
Systems and Adult Health to contribute to the education of Adult-Gero Acute Care Nurse
Practitioner / Clinical Nurse Specialist Doctor of Nursing Practice student s.
UMSON enrolls more than 2,000 students in its baccalaureate, master’s, and doctoral programs.

Essential Functions :
Primary Responsibilities include Develop, organize, deliver, and evaluate advanced practice
didactic and precepted practicum experiences in the acute care specialty. Evaluate student
performance in clinical settings. Conduct site visits. Advise and mentor students. Engage Doctor
of Nursing Practice students in evidence-based quality improvement projects. Collaborate with
Adult Gerontology Acute Care NP / CNS faculty, preceptors, and external stakeholders. Assist
with curricular revision and updates. Participate in a program of scholarship. Contribute to
faculty governance Provide service to the school, university, and profession.
Qualifications
Education and Experience :
- The successful candidate will have an earned doctorate (PhD, EdD, or DNP).
- Certification as an Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and / or Clinical Nurse
Specialist specialty is required.
- Current license to practice in the State of Maryland or a compact state is required.
- Advanced practice clinical experience in the acute care setting is required.
- Prior graduate teaching experience is preferred.
- This position requires face to face teaching and clinical site visits.
