Job description

Our Orange County Construction client is seeking a Construction Accounting Clerk to join their team. It is integral to managing the full-cycle job costing and contract accounting processes for construction and development projects.

This role involves reviewing and processing AP invoices, ensuring accuracy, maintaining detailed project records (contracts, change orders, lien releases), and preparing AIA billing. The clerk liaises with Project Managers and Engineers to track budgets, monitor financial performance, and reconcile project costs and expenses. Additionally, the role includes creating reports, maintaining vendor and customer databases, and ensuring compliance with company policies and GAAP standards.

The clerk interacts directly with vendors and customers via email, internet, and phone, requiring exceptional organizational and communication skills. Responsibilities also include bookkeeping tasks, reviewing purchase orders for documentation accuracy, supporting accounting operations, and assisting with special projects as directed by the Accounting Supervisor. The ability to utilize ERP accounting system, and Microsoft Office Suite is essential for daily operations.

Qualifications include 2 or more years of accounting experience (a background in construction billing required), strong clerical and organizational skills, proficiency in accounting software, and a professional demeanor for handling confidential information.

Pay range : $25-31 p / h
