FTE : Part Time, 0.6, 24.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift : Days

Pay : $38.91 - $60.31 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

Summary :

Provides direct lactation care and instruction to breastfeeding mothers and infants.

Responsibilities :

• Performs initial and on-going assessments of the patient's lactation goals and issues.
• Develops evidence-based feeding plans that address the mother and infant's feeding issues.
• Designs and implements community outreach / education programs and activities.
• Maintains knowledge of current lactation theories and research.
• Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements :

• Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered / Professional Nursing program if less than 3 years experience.
• State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• IBCLC or Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC), Certified Lactation Specialist (CLS), or Certified Breastfeeding Specialist (CBS).
• International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) required within 2 years of hire, and any relevant certification as determined at position level.
• 2 years of recent maternal / child nursing experience.
• BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date.

BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
