The incumbent in this position is responsible for performing advanced level work under the limited supervision of the Chancellor of Early Learning. The incumbent in this position will serve as the Communication Coordinator who is responsible for coordinating the Division's communication activities, publications, creating and implementing special projects that effectively describe and promote the organization's mission, vision and services.

Strong project and process management skills with the ability to lead initiatives from start to finish. Deep knowledge of public relations, journalism, mass communications, news reporting, editing, advertising, and marketing principles. Skilled in AP style and adaptable to writing across multiple formats and audiences. Strong understanding of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods. Experienced in leveraging social media, professional networking sites, and online communication tools to engage diverse audiences. Excellent research skills with the ability to gather, analyze, and synthesize information into logical formats for reports and presentations. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage time effectively. Adept at problem identification, solution development, and process improvement. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access) Experienced with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.). Knowledge of letters, reports, and tabular formats for structured documentation. Positive, professional attitude with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external partners. Considerate of the team workload and morale while maintaining productivity under pressure. Capable of working independently with limited guidance while delivering high-quality results.
4 years of professional experience in communications in a leadership role. Preferences will be given to applicants who have a bachelor's degree in communications or public relations AND 3 years of professional communications experience in a leadership role. A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in communications or public relations can substitute for 4 years of direct experience. Related work experience may not substitute for any licensure, certification, or registration required by an agency and indicated in the advertised job description.
