We are looking for a highly skilled Systems Administrator with expertise in iSeries, AS400, and RPG to join our team in Lincoln, Nebraska. This Contract-to-permanent position is ideal for candidates who excel in managing and optimizing robust enterprise systems and have a passion for ensuring security, scalability, and efficiency. Responsibilities :

Administer and maintain IBM iSeries (AS400) systems, including configuration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.

Develop and manage Control Language (CL) scripts to automate processes and enhance system functionality.

Perform backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and system availability.

Configure and audit security settings to protect sensitive information and maintain compliance.

Manage Power Systems hardware, including firmware updates, partitioning (LPARs), and virtualization using PowerVM.

Oversee database management tasks such as DB2 for i optimization and performance tuning.

Design scalable, secure, and resilient enterprise architecture solutions to meet organizational needs.

Develop and maintain middleware integrations using tools like IBM MQ, WebSphere, or Apache Camel.

Implement APIs and web services on IBM i for seamless data integration with external systems.

Monitor and manage work management components such as subsystems and job queues to optimize system operations.

Requirements

Minimum of seven years of experience in system administration, particularly with IBM iSeries (AS400).

Proficiency in RPG programming languages, including RPG IV and Free Format.

Strong knowledge of Power Systems hardware, virtualization technologies, and partitioning.

Expertise in database management using DB2 for i and related performance tuning techniques.

Familiarity with middleware tools such as IBM MQ, WebSphere, or Apache Camel.

Experience designing scalable and secure enterprise architecture solutions.

Ability to configure and audit security settings to ensure compliance and data protection.

Solid understanding of integration processes involving APIs and external systems.
