This position is located at the Embassy Suites in Arcadia, CA, a city known for its blend of suburban charm and natural beauty, home to the Los Angeles County Arboretum & Botanic Garden and historic Santa Anita racetrack.
Why We Need You
To strategically market the property, build an exceptional sales team, and develop and implement initiatives that positively impact hotel revenues and profits. The role includes responsibilities for selling, administration, planning, and communication. Sales personnel development, ongoing training, coaching, and counseling are critical components.
What You Will Do
- Produce the hotel's annual marketing plan and budget, in partnership with on‑property leaders and corporate support.
- Establish marketing campaigns and direct sales efforts to achieve business transient, group, and banquet / catering goals.
- Conduct regular financial analysis to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and strategies, making data‑driven decisions to improve ROI.
- Manage digital marketing, social media, public relations, and communications channels, ensuring accurate online content.
- Train and monitor group and events contractual, legal, and risk compliance practices, establish booking guidelines and pricing expectations, and uphold all company policies and procedures.
- Identify priority markets and accounts through market research, assign sales managers to ensure coverage of major markets.
- Execute the Sales Incentive Program, including booking and activity goals and productivity reconciliation.
- Monitor sales production and adjust activities and coverage to achieve plan goals.
- Develop new accounts while maintaining existing accounts to drive room, catering, and banquet sales.
- Create customer‑facing packages and sales collateral following brand guides.
- Maintain catering and banquet menus, conduct competitive pricing analysis.
- Attend trade shows and major market events locally and nationally, creating pre‑ and post‑trip reports.
- Align performance needs with brand solutions across key segments.
- Collaborate with Revenue Leaders to establish optimal business mix, review and maintain revenue forecasts, and develop pricing strategies.
- Direct day‑to‑day activities of the sales team, plan, organize, and assign work, and communicate strategies and goals.
- Recruit, select, train, and motivate the sales department, conduct formal evaluations, and provide coaching.
- Ensure professional, effective, and timely client communication; promote teamwork and quality service.
- Build active relationships with Convention & Visitors Bureau, National Sales Offices, Planners Associations, Chamber of Commerce, and other sales information sources.
- Maintain real‑time knowledge of competitors and market activity.
- Support and adhere to the company's mission, service fundamentals, and guest service philosophy.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or related field preferred, or equivalent education and experience.Vision to create strategic ideas driving sales and revenue.Proven aptitude analyzing data and industry trends using business intelligence.Strong partnership building and influence skills.Skilled leader with organizational and operational knowledge of hotel operations.Excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills.Mastery of the full sales process : prospecting, presentation, negotiation, closing, upselling, and loyalty building.Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.Occasional travel required to attend workshops, trade shows, brand meetings.Valid driver's license (may be required).Proficiency in computer software.Physical Demands
Light work. Exert up to 20 pounds occasionally. Requires long periods of sitting, moving around the hotel to give site tours, visiting clients off‑site, or standing at trade shows.
