Overview
The Alumni / Donor Relations and Special Events Manager has an integral role in the Institutional Advancement of Cardinal Mooney Catholic High School.
This role is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to engage and connect with alumni and other benefactors and to successfully run special events like the Gala, Golf tournament, and Homecoming Fish Fry.
Job Responsibilities
- Identify potential opportunities at the local level and create campaigns to capitalize on those opportunities
- Plan, coordinate all school events including golf tournament, homecoming fish fry and mass, dinner auction, etc.
- Working with the Director of Advancement and other partners and committees to provide vision, leadership, and oversight in planning and executing the vision and strategy of school related to alumni engagement.
- Working with the Marketing / Communications Manager to engage alumni in the life of the school through consistent and positive communication using electronic, print, and social media, exceptional customer service, and meaningful opportunities of volunteerism, service, personal and professional development, and events and programs.
- Implements student and alumni engagement plans to build life-long connection and support for the school.
- Develops and manages volunteer opportunities that support the objective of engaging alumni and serving as a source of alumni talent and resources for students, faculty, and staff.
- Develops and maintains collaborative relationships and programs with all school departments and divisions including enrollment management, academic services, and student life.
- Works with the Database Manger to ensure alumni records are current in order to locate and connect with them.
- Remains competent and current through self-directed professional reading, developing professional contacts with colleagues, attending professional development courses, and attending training and / or courses as directed by the supervisor.
- Manage all aspects of the school’s fundraising and friendraising event planning process, including collaboration with subcontractors, venue identification, menu development, printing and design of materials and budget tracking
- Develop a network of event subcontractors that make planning each community event a simple process
- Coordinate volunteers for special events
- Assumes other duties as assigned by the Principal or designee
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience with Alumni relations and special event planning (preferred)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities.
- Attention to detail and able to work independently.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks with emphasis on meeting tight deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively with School and Diocesan employees, department heads, representatives of other agencies, and the general public.
