The Advanced Head and Neck Oncology, Head and Neck Endocrine Surgery and Microvascular Reconstructive Fellowship is sponsored by Florida State University College of Medicine in partnership with Sarasota Memorial Hospital .
This intensive one-year fellowship offers unparalleled operative experience across the spectrum of modern head and neck surgical oncology and reconstruction.
Fellows participate in :
- Advanced head and neck cancer resections , including salvage and recurrent disease.
- High volume, complex endocrine surgical practice managing all parathyroid and thyroid pathologies.
- Microvascular free flap reconstruction , including complex multi-flap procedures.
- Transoral Robotic Surgery (TORS) for oropharyngeal and supraglottic malignancies.
- Complex Mohs reconstruction for extensive skin cancer defects.
- Transoral thyroid surgery for select thyroid pathologies.
- Minimally invasive thyroid nodule ablation using state-of-the-art technology.
- Sialoendoscopy for minimally invasive management of salivary duct disease.
Fellows take part in the full continuum of care — from multidisciplinary tumor board discussions to high-complexity operative cases — with
progressive autonomy designed to build both skill and confidence.
By graduation, fellows will be prepared to :
Manage the most challenging head and neck cancers with advanced surgical techniques.Perform microvascular reconstructions with proficiency and independence.Deliver cutting-edge endocrine surgery for thyroid and parathyroid disease, including transoral and minimally invasive approaches along with ablation.Manage complex salivary gland disorders with sialoendoscopy and other minimally invasive modalities.Lead multidisciplinary care in academic or high-volume community practice.Our goal is simple : to graduate surgeons who can match the expertise and patient outcomes of any top-tier academic head and neck cancer and head and neck endocrine surgery center in the country.
