Elevate Healthcare - Lead Engineer – Innovation & Technology
Position Overview
As a Lead Engineer for the Innovation Group, you will own the end-to-end technical roadmap and delivery for a set of products in our next-generation product portfolio. You will collaborate with various functions including Product Management, Design, Business Leaders, Sales, and Customer Success. It is your mission to translate the product roadmap into a clear engineering workplan, design a scalable architecture and lead a high-velocity team that builds, tests, and operates production-grade systems, delivered on-time.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Architecture & Strategy - Own the system‑level architecture that satisfies functional, performance, security, and scalability goals. Evaluate and recommend new technologies, frameworks, and tooling that align with product vision and customer needs.
- Roadmap Execution - Translate the product roadmap into a detailed, prioritized engineering backlog. Own sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release cadence with cross‑functional teams (Product, Design, Business, Sales, Support).
- Team Leadership & Mentorship - Coach and mentor less senior engineers; conduct regular code reviews, knowledge‑share sessions, and career‑development talks. Foster a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and data‑driven decision making.
- Production Excellence - Design and run high‑availability, production systems. Own incident response, post‑mortem processes, and reliability metrics.
- Agile Enablement – Champion agile practices (sprints, retrospectives, backlog refinement) and coach cross‑functional teams.
- Stakeholder Collaboration - Partner with Product Managers, Designers, Business Leaders, Sales, and Customer Success to surface technical constraints and validate assumptions. Communicate complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders in a clear, business‑impact‑focused manner.

10+ years of total experience preferred, 5+ years in an engineering team leadership roleHands-on experience with ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and generative AI tools (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Hugging Face)Expertise in building and deploying AI models for scheduling, NLP, and recommendation systems.Strong grasp of data engineering : pipelines, preprocessing, and model evaluation.Familiarity with privacy-preserving AI and regulatory compliance.Proven experience building or scaling an engineering org in a new‑innovation or early‑stage startup environment (or similar high‑ambition, ambiguity‑heavy context).3+ years running and supporting mission‑critical production systems (cloud and / or on‑prem). Fluency in at least one of : Python, Go, Rust, Java, C#, TypeScript.Hands‑on design of microservices, event‑driven pipelines, or distributed systems.Experience with CI / CD, GitOps, IaC (e.g., Terraform / CloudFormation), Containers / Kubernetes, and observability platformsFamiliarity with multi‑cloud or hybrid‑cloud strategies (AWS, GCP, Azure, on-prem)Preferred Experience
Design & deployment of large‑scale cloud services (e.g., serverless, container‑native, auto‑scaling).Direct experience with IP‑camera protocols, transcoding pipelines, or real‑time media systems.Expertise with distributed tracing, alert‑management, and performance profiling.Knowledge of audio / visual infrastructure (IP cameras, microphones, speakers, video matrices, decoders) is a strong differentiator.Other Personal Characteristics
