REPORTS TO : Tree Care Director DAYS : Mon-Fri (Occasional Saturdays)

SUMMARY : The Tree Care Estimator / Arborist generates and facilitates the sale of Mission Landscape products and services to new and existing clients.

The Tree Care Estimator plays an instrumental role in the connection between our clients : listening, assessing client tree care needs, consulting, and building trust-based relationships in order to ensure our clients are satisfied and receive the services and maintenance they require.

  • Also responsible for : Gathering and analyzing customer needs and interests; building strong business relationships and providing solutions to challenges;
  • Providing customers with clear, easy to understand information pertaining to all of our high quality products and services;
  • Delivering and following up on bid packages to ensure clients have enough information to make an informed decision; Successfully communicating Company's commitment to quality and passion for the landscape industry;

Maintaining open lines of communication with internal staff.

ROLES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATION includes the following :

  • Primary Responsibility : Spend 80-90% of working time traveling and meeting with prospective and existing clients to sell Mission Landscapes products and services.
  • Manage, inventory and estimate all new Tree Care Service RFP's.
  • Service, maintain and grow assigned territory and meet personal sales expectations.
  • Update inventories and upload data from reoccurring projects in tree management program.
  • Evaluate hazardous tree conditions and provide recommendations as needed.
  • Occasional work with Landscape Maintenance Account Managers to develop Tree Care programs and estimates for existing clients.
  • Occasionally attend board meetings for tree care presentations.
  • Attend community and industry events to help promote the business.
  • Partner with the management team and crews to schedule and complete projects to client's satisfaction.
  • Occasionally instruct crews on key elements of job scope / requirements to ensure that executed work meets the clients' expectations.
  • Make client and prospect visits to diagnose and monitor landscape trees.
  • Negotiate contract and bid proposals for residential and commercial clients. Continually prospect for new business.
  • Develop and implement tree care & plant health care programs.
  • Assist with crew training on proper Tree Care techniques and review crew work for quality and efficiency. Maintain a safe workplace environment.
  • Assist with recruiting qualified employees.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented.

SKILLS / ABILITIES :

  • The proven ability to establish, maintain and grow a sales territory.
  • Hands-on knowledge of tree & plant care.
  • The ability to correctly and effectively diagnose and price various shrub and tree care treatments.
  • The ability to prepare and present proposals.
  • Account management and cold-calling.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and able to multi-task
  • Proficient with computer software programs including MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
  • Strong communication skills (listening, oral and written)
  • Strong interpersonal skills - able to build solid business relationships

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS :

  • Certified Climber Specialist or willing to obtain
  • Certified Arborist or willing to obtain
  • Tree Risk Assessor Qualified or willing to obtain
  • Valid California driver's license
