Test Automation Engineer

JOB SUMMARY

Participate in test automation framework development functions with supervision to support testing activities for new and existing applications to ensure application quality, requirement satisfaction, and speed to market.

Assist with designing, developing, and maintaining an enterprise test automation framework

Assist with converting business requirements into technical specifications for test script authoring

Adhere to “best practice” coding techniques and standards.

Assist during project planning activities to validate test automation scope and estimates.

Participate in pair programming with test automation team members.

Participate in daily stand-ups, communicating effectively with project managers and team members.

Participate in writing detailed technical and functional specification documentation and coding standards.

Compile test results and communicate with project team members.

Assist to implement test automation practices within the Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment pipeline.

Utilize tools and procedures to monitor and supplement automated testing.

Complete other projects as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Demonstrate proficiency in at least one software development language (Java, Python, .NET, or Ruby).

Demonstrate a basic understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile development methodologies (Scrum and Kanban).

Demonstrate basic experience with containerization platform tools (EX : Docker).

Must possess knowledge of software QA principles and processes.

Must be detail-oriented, demonstrate clarity, and work well as a team member.

Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.

Effectively interface with external contacts, Brotherhood employees, managers, and department staff members.

EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE

An Associate's degree in IT or an equivalent field is required.

Bachelor’s degree in IT or an equivalent field is desired.

One or more years working in software development or software testing is desired.

Certifications within the software development or software testing disciplines are desired.

Exposure to and understanding the insurance or financial industry is desired.
