Description

The Account Manager for the US Air Force plays a pivotal role in identifying and cultivating opportunities in information technology and digital modernization, driving growth within the Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos. We are seeking a proactive leader who excels in customer engagement and solution development.

This position requires a strategic thinker able to shape and win new business. Responsibilities include engaging with customers, developing compelling value propositions, analyzing the competitive landscape, and advocating for Leidos' solutions, all while enhancing the company’s brand presence. You will contribute to growth strategies and business opportunities while developing innovative solutions to address client needs.

The right candidate will identify potential customers within the US Air Force and leverage their insights to drive competitive assessments, create strong partnerships, and participate actively in bid and proposal efforts.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the identification, development, and maturation of opportunities for the US Air Force, ensuring effective execution through the qualification and capture process.
  • Manage multiple simultaneous opportunities, demonstrating adaptability in a dynamic environment while bringing them to qualification.
  • Identify market gaps and emerging requirements, conduct business intelligence, and create and execute customer engagement strategies.
  • Exercise sound judgment while interacting with all levels of management and stakeholders, fostering a collaborative atmosphere.
  • Excel in multitasking with a strong understanding of business development processes, strategic planning, and relationship building with technical staff and management.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and 15+ years of professional experience.
  • Strong relationships with US Air Force stakeholders.
  • Proven capability to grow a diverse business pipeline.
  • Strategic planning, financial analysis, and business development skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and partners.
  • Experience in identifying and capturing opportunities effectively.
  • High attention to detail and strong project management skills.
  • Ability to articulate complex issues clearly and succinctly.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Technical background or operational experience is preferred.
  • Must be a US citizen and eligible to obtain a Department of Defense government security clearance at TS / SCI level.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical degree or background in Information Technology and Cyber Security.
  • Experience in managing teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with federal government budgeting and acquisition processes.
  • Direct experience in business development or capture management within the military sector.
