About You and The Role

As a Senior EMI / EMC engineer on the Avionics team, you will be responsible for architecting and executing on EMI / EMC compliance from board level to spacecraft level. You will work with mechanical, electrical, and integration engineers to ensure compliance across all systems.

These components are at the core of a new unmanned aerial system that will enable Zipline's impact to expand from 100,000 deliveries / year to 100 million across the globe. In addition, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with world class engineers across all disciplines and experience levels. The Avionics team encounters many challenges when designing robust avionics systems to provide life-saving service in some of the harshest environments on Earth. At the start of any project, our team plays a vital role in system architecture, designing for performance, reliability, and fault tolerance, while balancing mass and cost. Included in this is the design of an FAA-approved safety system to ensure the safety of employees, customers, and bystanders.

To achieve Zipline's goal of serving anyone anywhere, all aspects of a design must also be successful in a wide range of real-world environments by being robust against environmental, ESD, and EMI threats. These are just some of the many challenges that make us excited to go to work everyday.

What You'll Do

• Develop and execute EMI / EMC test plans from PCB level to integrated spacecraft level
• Analysis, design, and troubleshooting related to EMI / EMC, system grounding, circuit isolation, shielding, etc.
• Specify, procure, and maintain lab equipment related to EMI / EMC testing
• Promote best practices across various electrical and mechanical design teams
• Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring additional teammates to our rapidly-growing team

What Else You Need to Know

The starting cash range for this role is $170,000 - $210,000. Please note that this is a target, starting cash range for a candidate who meets the minimum qualifications for this role. The final cash pay for this role will depend on a variety of factors, including a specific candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, working location, and projected impact. The total compensation package for this role may also include : equity compensation; discretionary annual or performance bonuses; sales incentives; benefits such as medical, dental and vision insurance; paid time off; and more.
