Job Description
Job Purpose : To lead, manage and develop Darnall Dementia Trust (hereinafter called the Trust) to deliver the service in line with its strategic aims and objectives as agreed by the Board of Trustees.
Job Summary
- Strategic and financial oversight of the work of the organisation in cooperation with the board of Trustees.
- To work with the Day Centre Coordinator to ensure the provision of person centred care.
- To lead on recruitment, management, training and supervision of other Trust employees
- To lead on the recruitment, management, training, supervision and organisation of volunteers
- To lead on the identification and application for funding to support the Trust in line with the Trustees strategic aims and objectives
- To build and sustain effective relationships with external funding bodies and all other key stakeholder organisations.
Roles and Responsibilities :
- To work with the Board of Trustees to oversee all the work of the Trust, and take overall responsibility for the day to day management of all aspects of the work.
- Manage the effective, day-to-day running of the Day Centre, ensuring a high-quality service meeting all safety and regulatory standards.
- Together with the Day Centre Co-ordinator produce care plans for day centre attenders based on the principles of person-centred practice, and ensure these are regularly reviewed
- To work with the Day Centre Co-ordinator and staff to ensure there is a range of appropriate activities available for day centre attenders, and that they receive the support they need to engage with these
- Monitoring and maintaining sound evidence-based practice and ensuring this is used within the work of the Trust.
- To apply for funding from charitable bodies in order to ensure financial viability and maintain the development of the organisation.
- To communicate effectively with all clients, carers, co-workers, trustees, external referring agencies and any others involved in or interested in the Trust.
- To provide written reports to the Trustees on a regular basis and when requested.
- Manage recruitment of and supervise all Trust staff; undertake performance reviews and regular supervision meetings as necessary
- Manage and deliver Trust staff training and support, champion learning and development across the team
- Recruit, train and manage the team of volunteers supported by the Day Centre Coordinator, including periodic performance reviews.
- Maintain profession registration (Health and Care Professional Council (HCPC)) and keep up to date with emerging professional developments within social care and related areas of practice.
- To work with other health and social care professionals to ensure that referrals to the service are appropriate, and that changes in needs of Day Centre members and their carers are reviewed and responded to in a timely manner
- To carry out any other duties that may be reasonably requested by the Trustees
