Job Title
Responsibilities : This individual is responsible for planning, coordinating and supervising work and subcontractors on field project sites. Works with considerable independence but reports to project field leadership. Understands the importance of completing the work in accordance with contract documents and building codes. Plans work from oral and written instructions; assigns and supervises the work of personnel engaged in the installation and repairs. Supervises, inspects and keeps records of the completion of the punch list. Recruits and trains skilled trades helper personnel. Establishes safety and work performance standards. Manages material and delivery handling plans with team and subcontractors. Orders and updates jobsite supplies as needed. Coordinates site cleanup. Completes miscellaneous duties or special projects as assigned.
Basic Qualifications : Graduation from a standard high school, GED or vocational school with experience as a journeyman; or equivalent training and experience. Must be a team player and / or work well with others. Highly preferred : Construction or related experience. Thorough knowledge of the practices, methods, materials, tools, and equipment of the construction trade. Knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the work. Able to supervise the work of skilled and semi-skilled craft workers. Capable of reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches, drawings. Maintains good working relationships with personnel of other departments. Communicate clearly and concisely in writing and orally. Skilled in the use and care of the standard tools and equipment for the industry. Comprehends and can communicate in English. Ability to communicate in additional language(s) encouraged. The Physical Side of the Role : This is an active, hands-on role. You can expect to be on your feet frequently, navigating active job sites with uneven terrain, stairs, ladders, and hoists. The work is physically demanding and requires a full range of motion, including bending, kneeling, and reaching. You'll need to be comfortable frequently lifting and carrying materials up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds. This role requires the ability to communicate effectively, as well as visual acuity for reading plans and inspecting work. The role does include desk time in the office that may require prolonged periods of sitting for tasks like computer work, document review, and meetings.
Your Work Environment : You'll spend a significant amount of your time on active construction sites, which means being adaptable to all kinds of weather and moderate to loud noise levels, and comfortable in elevated or confined work areas with moving mechanical equipment and with the fast-paced nature of a project in progress. You will also spend time in a typical office setting with moderate noise levels.
