CAPTA Counselor at Safe Children Coalition, Inc.

Help Families Stay Together and Thrive as a CAPTA Counselor. The CAPTA program supports pregnant women, new parents, and families to prevent child separation and promote safety and well-being.

About CAPTA

The CAPTA program is committed to delivering comprehensive wrap-around services to support one of our most vulnerable groups : substance-exposed newborns (SEN) and young children affected by substance misuse. As part of this initiative, you'll be at the forefront, partnering with families to :

  • Reduce the number of substance-exposed newborns (SEN).
  • Prevent the removal of children from their families.
  • Enhance the overall well-being of both parents and children.

Responsibilities

  • Providing in-home supportive counseling to families.
  • Conducting thorough Family Situational Assessments.
  • Developing Plans of Safe Care (POSC) to guide families through challenges.
  • Empowering parents to make lasting changes and achieve their goals.
  • Fostering strong, trusting partnerships with families to ensure success.

  • Pay Range : $51,000 - $53,000

    Education / Experience

  • Level I : Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college with a major in the field of counseling, social work, psychology, nursing, rehabilitation, special education, health education, or a related human services field; and two (2) years of professional experience in the field of child welfare or social services.
  • Level II : Master's degree from an accredited university or college with a major in the field of counseling, social work, psychology, nursing, rehabilitation, special education, health education, or a related human services field and two (2) years of professional experience in the field of child welfare or social services.
  • Other Minimum Requirements

  • Possess a valid Florida Driver's License in good standing and be insurable by the agency's current insurance carrier.
  • Must meet state criminal background check requirements.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Knowledge of community resources.
