Program Manager, Data Center Acquisitions And Development

Google is looking for a Program Manager for Data Center Acquisitions and Development. This role is based in Sunnyvale, CA, USA; Kirkland, WA, USA; San Francisco, CA, USA; and Thornton, CO, USA. Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Real Estate, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience with one or more of the following : land acquisition, site selection for real estate projects, or evaluation and development.
  • Ability to travel within the United States of America as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in data center, real estate or infrastructure development.
  • Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and other real estate analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of the regulatory environment for real estate development.
  • Ability to work separately and collaborate in a fluid environment.
  • Ability to build consensus and influence stakeholders.

As a Program Manager at Google, you'll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines. The Global Acquisition and Development Team is a critical component of Google's Cloud Infrastructure organization. We are responsible for the acquisition and pre-development of real estate to support the expansion of Google's global data center footprint. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in securing and pre-positioning real estate for Google's data centers across America. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of land acquisition and pre-development projects, from initial site identification and analysis to discussion and closing. You will work with cross-functional teams, including engineering, legal, finance, and community engagement, to ensure the successful delivery of projects.

    Responsibilities

  • Drive the acquisition and development of data center sites across the portfolio, ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery while upholding exceptional quality standards.
  • Work collaboratively to provide critical data and insights through comprehensive reports to leadership and key stakeholder / partner teams, CRM tooling, concisely representing program status, performance, trends, and risks.
  • Develop metrics and systems for mapping and tracking a broad range of issues regarding site / infrastructure development.
  • Monitor progress against objectives, providing regular status reports and advocating financial metrics to support both site and infrastructure related decisions; conduct thorough analysis, negotiate agreements, and drive forward all aspects of real estate transactions.
  • Develop and implement best practices for land acquisition and development, proactively identify and mitigate associated risks; develop and maintain portfolio ledger dashboards and reports to track progress and support data-driven decision-making.
