A Day in the Life as an Accounts Receivable / Billing Specialist

As an AR / Billing Specialist, you will be play an integral role in supporting multiple departments by ensuring that all shipments and services are invoiced timely and accurately, following up with customers on past-due balances, and providing guidance on billing-related matters. Essential functions include :

  • Tracking and applying sales promotions
  • Issuing credits for customer returns, pricing adjustments, and promotions
  • Maintaining invoice contacts and resolving invoice delivery issues in Salesforce
  • Supporting customer collection efforts, ensuring thorough documentation and adherence to internal accounting practices
  • Responding to customer inquiries regarding invoices or payments
  • Monthly reconciliation of the A / R ledger with the general ledger
  • Preparing and submitting monthly tax returns
  • Monthly reconciliation of general ledger tax accounts
  • Maintaining exemption certificates for all customers
  • Serving as back-up support for other accounting functions, as needed
  • Assisting with year-end and internal audits

What You Need

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • 2+ years of experience working in an accounting related position
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and terminology
  • Accurate and efficient data entry and basic math skills
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to to manage multiple priorities independently
  • Solid problem solving and time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint)
