Posting expires : October 9, 2025 Salary : $90,988.00 General Description and Classification Standards : The Watershed Manager I is responsible for overseeing and coordinating training courses for the Department of Watershed’s (DWM) University, Training and Development Division. This involves collaborating closely with DWM divisions to ensure that staff and professionals receive the appropriate training and education. This position shall oversee training by helping to research and select the appropriate training programs and resources, including the implementation of in-person, online, or digital training programs for DWM’s employees. The Manager I shall track employee training to ensure all members of the team are compliant and up-to-date on their continuing education. This position is expected to increase project efficiency and goal attainment, encompassing scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, coordination, quality control, stakeholder relations, and risk management. Additionally, leading cross- functional teams, serving as the liaison for escalated issues, managing various projects including vendor selection, course calendar maintenance, and developing interdepartmental policies and procedures are integral aspects of the role. Responsibilities extend to creating, monitoring, and managing budgets and staff, collaborating with departments to align training plans with strategic goals, and performing cost-benefit analysis and benchmarking. Furthermore, the role involves developing, managing, and coordinating training programs and projects related to all DWM divisions, ensuring effective communication and coordination with internal and external organizations to achieve program objectives. Supporting the internal communications team in writing content, ensuring a first-class competitive environment within the department, and overseeing the acquisition, assignment, utilization, and maintenance of learning programs are among the responsibilities. Technical and supervisory responsibilities to training supervisors and other junior personnel, including quality checking content, providing oral and written reports, and delivering reports and analysis, are also part of the role. Additionally, managing the internal outreach component of training and development, overseeing the procurement of learning resources, and exercising sound independent judgment and discretion in applying and interpreting department policies and practices within established guidelines are key aspects of the position. Supervision Received : Works under very general supervision. Depending on organization structure, may work independently with responsibility for an assigned function or program. Lead and motivate training supervisors, division liaisons, and students Review course content and update as needed Ensure quality of training by conducting regular inspections and monitoring activities according to specifications. Collaborate with division liaisons to ensure seamless learning opportunities. Coordinate with internal departments to address training or professional development issues. Ensure that team members are compliant and up-to-date on their continuing education. Assist in interviewing support staff and providing necessary training. Set performance goals and deadlines, monitor and report training progress. Assist in identifying new courses, vendors, and learning programs. Meet with new vendors and act as a liaison with the DWM Procurement team to ensure a smooth purchase process. Plan and oversee special events intended to increase student participation and engagement. Bachelor’s Degree in business / public administration, finance, accounting or related field. 2. Five (5) years of relevant experience in training, education, customer service, administration, and / or business is required. 3. Valid Georgia driver’s license. Preferred Education & Experience : Master’s Degree in business / public administration, finance, accounting or related field. Five plus years of relevant professional experience is required (training, education, administration, budgeting, business, and / or customer service).Licensures and / or Certifications – Related licenses or certifications are not required but preferred Work Environment : Office and field training sites.
