The Institutional Product Group lays the groundwork for Coinbase’s institutional operations, aiding countless financial institutions in securely managing their digital assets and engaging in the crypto economy. We pride ourselves on creating a scalable and secure crypto platform that supports a diverse range of assets and offers features like staking, governance, and Web3 gateways. Our team is at the forefront of developing cutting-edge crypto technology, robust infrastructure, and user interfaces across web, mobile, and browser extensions in a rapidly evolving industry.

The Markets Derivatives team develops and manages core systems for Coinbase's U.S. Derivatives and International Exchanges, including Matching Engines, Order Management System, and FIX, REST, and Market Data gateways. As a Backend Software Engineer, you will join a skilled and expanding engineering team addressing significant scale and performance challenges as we execute our ambitious roadmap to establish Coinbase as the most trusted crypto platform worldwide.

What You'll Be Doing

• Designing and implementing innovative trading products and features.
• Extending and scaling the low-latency platform that supports trading operations.
• Collaborating with engineers, product managers, and senior leadership to translate vision into actionable results every quarter.
• Enhancing developer efficiency, engineering excellence, and operational reliability.
• Providing support to operations and fellow engineering teams.
• Mentoring team members and fostering technical growth across the group.

Pay Transparency Notice : Depending on your work location, the target annual salary for this position ranges based on experience and qualifications. Full-time offers from Coinbase include a target bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits (including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)).

Pay Range : $152,405 - $179,300 USD
