Description

Under the direction of the supervisor, this person is responsible for the inventory of all packaging supplies (including cycle counting). The operator is responsible for transferring supplies from the warehouse into and out of consumption areas. This person will also operate equipment and provide relief for positions in Lunchables.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Other duties including those not specifically related to the Material Handler may be assigned.

  • Deliver and verify all needed packaging supplies daily.
  • Perform daily cycle counts and periodic Packaging inventories.
  • Accurately reports inventory transactions in Kraft’s Warehouse Management System (SAP).
  • Closely interact with Materials Management and Quality personnel regarding packaging changes, packaging holds, etc.
  • Work with Receiving department in receiving incoming packaging supplies and outgoing obsolete supplies or supplies shipped to other locations.
  • Move materials using forklifts (certification required), lift-a-lofts, power jacks, and hand jacks.
  • Ability to learn and execute strict inventory control procedures.
  • Relieve line operators as needed.
  • Responsible for removing trash from the production area and disposing it in the designated areas.
  • May be required to assist in product changeovers on the line.
  • Will be required to complete forklift sanitation and period cleaning activities for the department. May be required to assist in sanitation on all pieces of equipment as needed
  • He / she must adhere to all GMP’s and safety policies such as LO / TO and Personal Protective Equipment
  • Responsible for compliance with the safety policy and accident prevention and compliance programs.
  • This person has the responsibility to operate under the Kraft Heinz Safety Values.
  • Adhere to all safety and environmental policies, procedures and compliance programs.
  • Work toward achieving an injury free environment.
  • Cross-train on other jobs within the department.
  • He / she must be self-motivated and be able to work in a team environment. Good communication is essential.
  • Responsible for reviewing work areas for potential losses and loss control opportunities and for reporting hazards, injuries / illnesses, and other losses to supervisors.

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Computer literacy with Word, Excel, Outlook, SAP, and Matrics. Mechanical skills a plus.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must be able to read and interpret documents related to scheduling, delivery and inventory of materials, work instructions, forecasts and other work-related documents. Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees. Must be able to write clearly and legibly and communicate information to other employees.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
