The Mission Neighborhood Health Center is a non-profit, multi-site community health organization offering comprehensive health services in the Mission and Excelsior Districts of San Francisco.

The center offers primary health care services, adult medicine, pediatrics, family planning, OB / GYN, HIV and homeless services.

We are currently looking for qualified candidates for our Behavioral Health Clinician role. Please note : this role requires an applicant to be bilingual (English / Spanish) .

This position reports to the Behavioral Health Director / Interim Leader and is a Regular, Full Time, Exempt role with a starting yearly salary range of $79,000 to $91,000 (unlicensed) / $94,000 to $106,000 (licensed) with full benefits .

This position is eligible for a $2,000 one-time, sign on bonus paid after successfully completing 90 days employment. Pre-Approved Loan Repayment Programs available! Primary Objective : As a member of the primary care team at MNHC, the Behavioral Health Clinician (BHC) provides CBT and psychodynamic interventions, crisis intervention, grief / bereavement counseling, problem solving, stress reduction & developing healthy coping strategies in individual / family / group settings.

Assists clients with referrals to specialty services for clients needing more intensive mental health and substance abuse treatment.

Under general direction of the Behavioral Health Director BHC delivers age-appropriate social work care to patients in accordance with agency policy and procedure and state and federal regulations.

The BHC serves as an integral member of the healthcare team providing assessments, coordination, treatment planning, information and referral to community resources and other social services to meet the complex needs of patients.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities : Work collaboratively with other disciplines to provide comprehensive and holistic patient care.

Adheres and maintains productivity standards as designated by agency standards and in accordance with federally qualified health centers and respective grants.

Provides behavioral health services to homeless clients enrolled at the MNRC Clinic diagnosed with mild to moderate mental health conditions and general psychosocial concerns as well as substance use disorders.

Work collaboratively with the primary care teams in clients' respective MNHC Shotwell and Excelsior clinics (i.e. Prenatal, Teen, Pediatrics, Women’s and Adult) and MNRC, including Warm Hand Offs.

Engage clients in services, taking into account client-identified needs, mental health concerns, trauma, socioeconomic and cultural factors, family and immigration circumstances, and medical complexity.

Provide crisis intervention and clinical assessment. Utilize a strengths-based and client-centered model of services to provide therapeutic interventions and short-term counseling.

Address Social Determinants of Health impacting a client's physical and mental well-being. Adapt treatment models and strategies to meet individual client need.

Utilize evidenced-based models of intervention, including but not limited to : mindfulness, CBT techniques, harm reduction, motivational interviewing, and health psychology Educate clients in strategies to address emotional dysregulation, traumatic responses, insomnia, anxiety, depression, and other manifestations of psychosocial stress.

Support clients in addressing psychosocial and mental health factors affecting chronic diseases such as diabetes and chronic pain, and link clients to wellness supports.

Link clients with community services such as family and educational resources, immigration resources, and employment and disability resources.

Liaison to specialty services for clients with severe mental health and / or substance abuse treatment needs. Accurately ant timely chart in the medical record according to established protocols.

Work closely with the MNHC Behavioral Health team on additional projects and participate in regular meetings, initiatives, and quality improvement projects.

Participate in individual and group consultation through case presentations and offering clinical feedback when appropriate.

Complete encounter forms and electronic logs thoroughly and in a timely manner, appropriately documenting all procedures and diagnoses.

Meet productivity benchmarks and quality indicators and grant / contract deliverables. Qualifications : Master’s Degree in Psychology or Social Work from an accredited program or university.

Active LMFT or LCSW license and registration with the CA Board of Behavioral Sciences. ASW or AMFT may be considered based on familiarity with integrated care models.
