Collins Aerospace is seeking a Systems Administrator for a position in Jacksonville, Florida. Due to the applicable duties, this position requires 100% onsite employee status. The Systems Administrator will support and maintain enterprise Microsoft infrastructure, including Windows Server, Active Directory, and Hyper-V environments, within a secure classified network. This position involves system installation, configuration, patching, and performance tuning, as well as troubleshooting complex issues across virtual and physical platforms. A strong understanding of Microsoft enterprise technologies, security compliance, and network fundamentals is required to ensure reliability, availability, and compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) standards.
What YOU will do :
Provide Windows Server systems administration in a secure, multi-domain enterprise environment.
Administer and maintain Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and WSUS.
Manage and support Hyper-V virtual infrastructure, including provisioning, snapshots, templates, and performance optimization.
Troubleshoot hardware, operating system, and application issues of moderate to high complexity across physical and virtual servers.
Perform system patching, imaging, backup, and restoration using enterprise management tools and industry best practices.
Implement and maintain server security hardening and compliance with DoD and corporate cybersecurity standards.
Collaborate with Cybersecurity, Networking, and Engineering teams to sustain secure, mission-critical environments.
Document configurations, standard operating procedures, and baselines to support audits and continuity.
Provide mentorship to junior administrators and contribute to process improvement efforts.
Support systems operating 24x7, occasionally requiring after-hours or weekend work to ensure availability.
Travel occasionally (up to 10%) to other U.S. locations for project or system support.
Qualifications YOU Must Have :
Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Active and transferable DoD Secret clearance.
Hands-on experience administering Windows Server environments including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
Proven experience managing virtualized infrastructures in production environments.
Experience with enterprise backup and recovery solutions and patch management (e.g., WSUS, BackupExec, VEEAM).
Understanding of network fundamentals, user access controls, and security hardening.
Ability to obtain and maintain DoDD 8140 / 8570 baseline certification (such as CompTIA Security+ CE) within 6 months of start.
Qualifications We Prefer :
Current DoDD 8140 / 8570 certification (Security+ CE, Microsoft, or equivalent).
Strong knowledge of Windows Server 2019 / 2022, Active Directory replication, and Group Policy troubleshooting.
Experience with PowerShell scripting or other automation for patching and configuration.
Familiarity with DFARS, RMF, JSIG, or NISPOM compliance requirements.
Experience managing file services, DFS, BitLocker, and data encryption solutions.
Exposure to SCCM / MECM for patch and asset management.
Experience supporting secure or classified network environments.
