Responsibilities

What You'll Do as a Payroll Specialist

As a Payroll Specialist at Lewis Services, you'll :

  • Import and export data files across multiple systems
  • Calculate, process, and report payroll taxes and deductions including garnishments, union dues, and benefits
  • Prepare certified payrolls and monthly union reports and payments
  • Prepare and analyze reports, journal entries, reconciliations, and audit support
  • Maintain knowledge and compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
  • Complete required statistical reports for external agencies
  • Process extra compensation, off-cycle checks, pay adjustments, and stop payments
  • Partner with HR and other departments to obtain data for time and labor, retro payments, PTO payouts, and vacation payouts
  • Serve as the primary customer contact for employee payroll questions and issue resolution
  • Research and resolve payroll discrepancies through data review and analysis
  • Protect employee confidentiality and uphold payroll data integrity
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Qualifications

    What You Bring

  • Associate degree or equivalent education and experience
  • Two to five years of multi-state payroll processing experience
  • FPC or CPP certification preferred
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work under pressure
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Access, Word)
  • Experience with Ultimate Software or JD Edwards Enterprise One preferred
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

  • Computers, phones, scanners, copiers, and standard office equipment
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • JD Edwards or similar HRIS / payroll systems
  • Physical Demands

    Ability to :

  • Sit, stand, walk, reach, and perform repetitive keystrokes regularly
  • Occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb stairs, and lift or move up to 25 lbs
  • Work extended periods at a computer workstation

  • Responsabilidades

    Lo Que Haras como Especialista de Nomina

    Como Especialista de Nomina en Lewis Services, tu :

  • Importaras y exportaras archivos de datos entre multiples sistemas
  • Calcularas, procesaras y reportaras impuestos y deducciones de nomina, incluidas embargos, cuotas sindicales y beneficios
  • Prepararas nominas certificadas y reportes y pagos sindicales mensuales
  • Prepararas y analizaras reportes, asientos contables, conciliaciones y material para auditorias
  • Mantendras conocimiento y cumplimiento de las regulaciones federales, estatales y locales de nomina
  • Completaras reportes estadisticos requeridos por agencias gubernamentales
  • Procesaras pagos adicionales, cheques fuera de ciclo, ajustes de pago y cancelaciones
  • Colaboraras con Recursos Humanos y otros departamentos para obtener informacion de tiempo y asistencia, pagos retroactivos, pagos de PTO y vacaciones
  • Seras el punto de contacto principal para empleados con preguntas o problemas relacionados con la nomina
  • Investigaras y resolveras discrepancias de nomina mediante analisis de datos
  • Mantendras la confidencialidad de la informacion de nomina
  • Realizaras otras tareas asignadas
  • Calificaciones

    Lo Que Aportas

  • Titulo asociado o experiencia equivalente
  • De dos a cinco anos procesando nominas multiestatales
  • Experiencia en nomina canadiense preferida
  • Certificacion FPC o CPP preferida
  • Capacidad para mantener la confidencialidad

  • Fuertes habilidades interpersonales y de servicio al cliente
