As a Simulation Developer , you will contribute to the development, validation, and optimization of tire and vehicle simulation models. You will work closely with engineers and researchers to integrate simulation tools into the tire design process, ensuring accuracy in performance predictions
Location : SRI-A Proving grounds, Huntsville, AL
Travel : 15%
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and refine tire and vehicle simulation models using computational tools
- Assist in data processing and analysis from tire testing and simulations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate simulation results into design improvements.
- Create and Develop vehicle models for handling and NVH simulations, using a combination of vehicle measurements and data acquisition
- Use tire testing data and simulated tire data to optimize NVH performance in vehicle simulations and testing.
- Assist with tire and vehicle outdoor testing, including vehicle instrumentation and data acquisition and analysis
- Debug and optimize simulation software to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Document findings and contribute to technical reports and presentations.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging simulation technologies.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.Basic knowledge of tire mechanics, NVH, vehicle dynamics, and material properties. Advanced knowledge of simulation software and tools.Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in mechanical engineering, material science or related fieldExperience with machine learning applications in predictive modelingKnowledge of tire testing procedures and data interpretationGood project management abilitiesPreferred Skills :
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detailsStrong communication and teamworking attitudeAbility to manage multiple projects and meet deadlinesProficiency in CAD software (Catia, 3DExperience, AutoCAD, Creo or similar)Experience with Python / Matlab codingPreferred Knowledge :
Knowledge of tire materials, construction, and performance characteristics.Knowledge of constitutive material models, including hyperelasticity and visco elasticityKnowledge of vehicle dynamics, NVH and real time simulationFamiliarity with VI-Grade software (Car Real Time, NVH)Familiarity with finite element modeling (Abaqus / LS-Dyna)Familiarity with Tire models used in vehicle dynamics and NVH simulationsKnowledge of tire test / simulation methods (modal models, acoustic models)Understanding of Agile methodologiesKnowledge of digital twin technology or Virtual TireFamiliarity with IoT integration and use of sensors to communicate, collect and exchange data between physical tire and tire model / simulators.Personal Attributes :

Please keep in mind that this range represents an estimate based upon requested experience and skill sets. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors, experience, knowledge, skills, and may differ from this estimate.
