Collection Analyst for the Special Collections Unit (SCU)
As a Collection Analyst for the Special Collections Unit (SCU), you will assist in the management of uncollectible debt for Travelers Residual Markets. This will include an assignment of specific states and will require the ability to work in multiple systems in order to research or provide assistance to external partners. This position will include a level of mathematical competency. You will communicate with and provide support to the multiple collection agencies used to collect the outstanding debt. You will also oversee litigation processes, and collaborate with attorneys to influence decisions on litigation, mediation, settlement, and file closure.
Coordinate the collection of premium balances for Travelers Residual Markets for assigned states, which may sometimes include basic calculations for accuracy.
Assist the collection agencies by responding to requests for information.
Provide guidance and necessary documents to attorneys when suit is advised.
Manage court-related documentation and coordinate witnesses.
Engage in mediation, arbitration, and litigation of collection files.
Evaluate premium debts to determine the continuation of collection activities.
Update and monitor SCU work systems including CATS, PRDB and DBS.
Offer technical support to underwriting and correct transaction errors.
Track legal and attorney-related expenses.
Perform additional duties as needed.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
Proficiency in legal and financial documentation.
Technological proficiency and basic knowledge in Microsoft Suite products.
Ability to manage multiple files and prioritize tasks effectively.
Experience in debt collection and / or litigation processes.
Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
Core mathematical competency.
1 year of general business experience required.
