Department : Mechanical + Refrigeration
Location : Bloomington, MN
Compensation : $65,000 - $145,000 / year
Responsibilities
Design and oversee HVAC-R systems, plumbing, medical gas and vacuum systems, steam generation / distribution, and fire protection systemsCollaborate with architects, structural, and civil engineers to deliver integrated building solutionsConduct facility assessments and commissioning / retro-commissioning of healthcare infrastructureEnsure compliance with healthcare-specific standardsManage building automation systems and sustainability initiativesParticipate in equipment planning and layout optimization for healthcare facilitiesCollaborate with project managers, including scheduling, documentation, and stakeholder coordinationQualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited program, requiredLicensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Mechanical EngineeringMinimum 5 years of experience in healthcare-related mechanical design, preferredProficiency in Revit and other BIM tools for HVAC and plumbing designStrong understanding of building codes (IMC, IPC, FFC), healthcare regulations and safety standards (ASHRAE-170, FGI)Hospital BMS platformsExperience with PLC-based systems, HMI integration, and hospital BMS platformsProven ability to build strong client relationships and promote ISG's design solutionsExceptional communication skills—able to convey ideas empathetically, visually, and effectively in both written and verbal formatsDemonstrated experience in healthcare-focused mechanical design, including detailed HVAC, plumbing, and medical gas system documentation for healthcare facilitiesCollaborative mindset with leadership capabilities and a passion for mentoring othersBenefits
