Responsibilities and Expectations :
Integrated Power Services is seeking self-motivated Protection & Control Technician that is willing to be hands on with our field services group.
- Physical wiring
- Verification of all non-factory wiring
- Commissioning of relays
- Setup and configuration of all network (LAN / WAN) equipment
- Verification of functionality of all equipment
- Responsible for job from start to finish
- Preplanning outages
- Working with local P&C Oversight / Engineering / Operations to determine and mitigate reduced or inadequate protection situations
- Planning and scheduling SCADA checkout
- Other job duties are as follows in the electrical maintenance and testing of equipment from the 480 volt level to the 345 kV level :
Problem solving
Assisting field service teams during maintenance, shut-downs, startups and testing projectsReport writingTesting complex relays, including but not limited to distance, directional power, reverse power, negative sequence, differential, motor and generator protection. Relay examples include :SEL-2411, SEL-421 / 411L or 311L

Associates of Science in Electrical Technologies preferred, or 2-5 years experience; or equivalent education and experienceGood verbal and written communication skillsComputer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and AutoCADMust have a valid driver's license, and currently have and be able to maintain a good driving recordMust be available for periodic to continuous domestic travelMust have at least 3 years of experience operating a vehicle with a valid, unrestricted driver’s license.Physical Requirements :
