Senior Investment Accountant
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior Investment Accountant to join our team in West Des Moines, Iowa. In this long-term contract position, you will play a key role in managing complex investment portfolios, ensuring their accurate accounting and compliance with financial regulations. This opportunity is ideal for someone with a solid background in investment accounting and a strong understanding of the financial services industry.
Responsibilities :
- Perform daily, monthly, and quarterly accounting tasks for diverse investment products, including fixed income, equities, alternatives, and derivatives.
- Prepare and review journal entries, ensuring accuracy in account reconciliations and investment-related financial statements.
- Analyze portfolio activities to identify trends and provide actionable insights to senior leadership.
- Collaborate with asset managers, custodians, and internal teams to ensure correct valuation and accounting treatment of investments.
- Maintain compliance with applicable regulatory standards and reporting requirements for investment portfolios.
- Assist in preparing statutory and regulatory filings, ensuring all disclosures are accurate and timely.
- Provide documentation and respond to inquiries during audits conducted by external auditors and regulatory agencies.
- Support month-end close activities, including reconciliation of general ledger accounts and bank statements.
Requirements :
Proven experience in investment accounting, preferably within the financial services industry.Strong knowledge of month-end close processes, including general ledger management and journal entries.Proficiency in account reconciliation and bank reconciliation procedures.Familiarity with regulatory reporting standards applicable to investment portfolios.Excellent analytical skills to evaluate portfolio performance and identify trends.Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.Detail-oriented approach with exceptional organizational and time management skills.Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
