Senior Investment Accountant

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior Investment Accountant to join our team in West Des Moines, Iowa. In this long-term contract position, you will play a key role in managing complex investment portfolios, ensuring their accurate accounting and compliance with financial regulations. This opportunity is ideal for someone with a solid background in investment accounting and a strong understanding of the financial services industry.

Responsibilities :

• Perform daily, monthly, and quarterly accounting tasks for diverse investment products, including fixed income, equities, alternatives, and derivatives.
• Prepare and review journal entries, ensuring accuracy in account reconciliations and investment-related financial statements.
• Analyze portfolio activities to identify trends and provide actionable insights to senior leadership.
• Collaborate with asset managers, custodians, and internal teams to ensure correct valuation and accounting treatment of investments.
• Maintain compliance with applicable regulatory standards and reporting requirements for investment portfolios.
• Assist in preparing statutory and regulatory filings, ensuring all disclosures are accurate and timely.
• Provide documentation and respond to inquiries during audits conducted by external auditors and regulatory agencies.
• Support month-end close activities, including reconciliation of general ledger accounts and bank statements.
