Job Summary
The Web Development Intern will be responsible for building a website and promoting a responsible use of technology that respects the environment and supports Colas’ CSR (Corporate Social Responsibilities) commitments.
Main Responsibilities
- Create cross-browser, fully functional web pages using HTML and CSS while strictly adhering to accessibility and W3C web standards.
- Participate in conception, design, development, implementation, and deployment of web-based user interface systems.
- Assist with building a website for our internal users that will inform and educate them about their digital carbon footprint, both at work and at home.
- Design, build and deploy a cross platform (computer and mobile devices) solution that will ask a few questions, consider some usage information that we will extract from our systems, and publish an estimated digital carbon footprint as well as a few recommendations on how to reduce it.
- Recommend the technology stack to support it, considering the specific needs of this project and the standards used in the company for development.
- Align with our cyber security requirements.
- Research the appropriate recognize CO2 equivalent calculations, and the scenarios where we control it.
- Assists in the development of testing / training material and all documentation related to the processes maintained by the team.
Education And Requirements
- You must be a student currently enrolled in an IT (Information Technology) related major from an accredited college or university.
- You will be required to work out of the HQ office up to 3 days a week
Skills
- Experience in mobile platform development is an asset.
- Azure components-based development experience is a plus.
- Cloud platforms development experience is a plus.
- Must have a cross platform dynamic websites portfolio to present during the interview.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office specifically Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- The ability to communicate and absorb sophisticated ideas quickly and accurately.
- An ability to balance multiple time-critical tasks.
- Must have time management skills and be able to work within allocated timeframes / schedules.
- A proactive approach to problem solving, taking ownership of issues, and having the determination to follow things through.
