Travel Nursing Job Details

Location : San Marcos, TX 78666 (Texas nursing jobs)

Healthcare Setting : Cardiac Stepdown / IMC Med-Surg Unit

Assignment Type : Travel RN, Full Time

Contract Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 12 / 8 / 2025 – End : 3 / 8 / 2026)

Nursing Shift : Nights, 7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM (12-hour shifts)

Schedule : Every other weekend required; no regular call (occasional low census on-call, limited to once every two weeks)

Hours per Week : 36

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1360–$1460

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or compact state

Current BLS (AHA) certification required

Current ACLS (AHA) certification required

Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Cardiac Stepdown, IMC, or Med-Surg nursing

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Successful completion of facility orientation and competency validation upon hire

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Cardiac Stepdown / IMC Med-Surg unit, following the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation)

Administer medications and treatments safely; monitor patient responses and document outcomes

Accurately document patient history, symptoms, medications, and nursing interventions

Assess and address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of cardiac patients and their families

Educate patients, families, and caregivers on care plans, medications, and discharge instructions

Delegate tasks appropriately and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members

Participate in ongoing competency and skills validation as required by the healthcare facility
