Dental Hygiene Clinic Receptionist
Under general supervision will perform receptionist duties for the Dental Hygiene Clinic front desk including customer service, clerical and program support responsibilities. Assist clinic supervisor with equipment maintenance, monitoring, inventory and minor repairs as needed. Supports program during special program and college events. Provide clinical reception desk coverage by answering incoming telephone calls, directing calls and taking messages as appropriate, confirming and scheduling appointments, update and maintain patient short call list and patient files, patient intake processing, updating patient information in dental software, and informing patients of SLCC parking protocol and enter digital permits. Complete patient payment processing though preparing patient payment slips, processing credit card and cash payments, daily cashier drawer balancing, entering, and verifying information in dental software. Assist in transitioning dental records from paper to electronic by scanning and organizing electronic files following HIPAA regulations. Maintain cleanliness and organization of dental hygiene clinic reception, sterilization and laundry areas. Assist dental hygiene clinic supervisor during summer months and non-treatment hours performing equipment maintenance, minor repairs and updating clinic inventory. Provide assistance monitoring proper handling and sterilization of instruments, small equipment and spore testing of sterilization equipment. Support Dental Hygiene faculty, staff and students as needed during Community Service events, CDCA WREB CITA Board exams, Continuing Education events, SLCC marketing tours, DHY pinning ceremony and other program events throughout the year. Capable to learn database software Basic knowledge of dental terminology and dental office software systems. Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College. Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities.
