Role Overview
The Purchasing Agent coordinates procurement operations between branch offices, central office, and departmental divisions. You will develop bid packages for the solicitation and purchase of commodity and services within the Agency's delegation authority as established by the Indiana Department of Administration (IDOA), Indiana Board of Accounts, and Indiana State Comptroller. You will be the liaison for procurement operations with IDOA.
Salary :
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $53,222 but may be commensurate with education and experience.

This position is exempt from overtime compensation for additional work hours that may be required to complete essential functions or other assigned work. Exempt employees may work more than 75 hours in a pay period without additional compensation and must report a minimum of 75 hours per pay period of work hours and / or paid leave taken to receive their base biweekly salary.

Credentials :
Undergraduate degree is required; Four years work experience in procurement administration may be substituted for the undergraduate degree.

Must have strong business writing skills.
Must have experience in negotiation, problem solving, and conflict resolution.
Must be accomplished in written and verbal presentation preparation and delivery.

Must have leadership, presentation, teamwork, and quantitative skills.
Must have strong organizational skills and proven ability to prioritize tasks.
Must exhibit a strong attention to detail.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
To remain in this position you must :
Obtain and hold Delegation of Purchasing Authority Program (DPAP) certification from the Indiana Department of Administration.
Supervisory Responsibilities / Direct Reports :
This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
