Job Description
- The Lead Steward supports the food service operations of the Blackwell Inn and Pfahl Executive Education Center, which includes a full-service upscale hotel, lounge, function space and signature restaurant, Bistro 2110;
- oversees the work of stewards in the restaurant and banquets; oversees and ensures the care, maintenance and the highest levels of cleanliness of china, flatware, glassware, pots and pan, and kitchen equipment;
- serves as a working manager and recruits, hires, trains and supervises stewards and assists with timekeeping and payroll;
- leads stewards in maintaining composting and sustainability efforts; oversees and assists in the delivery of food and equipment to banquet functions and employee cafeteria;
maintains inventories of china, glassware and flatware; assists with deep cleaning projects as well as any other tasks required by the Sous Chef, Banquet or Restaurant management teams.
The Blackwell Inn is a 24 / 7 operation, as such, this position will operate with a flexible schedule and will require some evening and weekend hours.
Minimum Education Required
High School diploma or GED. Certification or vocational training may be preferred. 1 year of relevant experience required.
2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
Required : Associate degree from a culinary or hospitality management program or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Qualifications
2-Year College Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Supervisory experience and strong leadership skills.
