Job Description Summary
The Armellino Center of Excellence for Williams Syndrome at Penn and CHOP is seeking a Senior Research Investigator, who will initiate, contribute and manage development of multiple research projects and study protocols of Dr. Mark Levin. Dr. Levin's studies are focused on cardiovascular manifestation of Williams syndrome, with specific emphasis on sudden cardiac death. Selected candidate will be leading the animal studies, conducting electrophysiology experiments, including those requiring experience with patch clamp technique. To ensure success of all researches / clinical studies, Senior Research Investigator will work with Principal Investigator, Dr. Mark Levin, and will closely interact with post doctoral fellows and students in the laboratory, as well as will participate in developing and following safety procedures and research SOPs and protocols for general
laboratory practices, in compliance with safety regulations. It is anticipated that Senior Research Investigator will assist with preparation of conference presentations and with preparation of drafts of manuscripts to submitted to peer-reviewed journals.
Job Description

Dr. Levin's studies are focused on cardiovascular manifestation of Williams syndrome, with specific emphasis on sudden cardiac death. Selected candidate will be leading the animal studies, including whole animal, organ level and isolated cardiomyocyte electrophysiology experiments. These include in vivo cardiac electrophysiology testing, optical mapping with voltage and calcium sensitive dyes and isolated cardiomyocyte studies using whole cell patch clamp, mycoyte contractility and calcium imaging techniques. To ensure success of all researches / clinical studies, Senior Research Investigator will work with Principal Investigator, Dr. Mark Levin, and will closely interact with postdoctoral fellows and students in the laboratory, as well as will participate in developing and following safety procedures and research SOPs and protocols for general laboratory practices, in compliance with safety regulations. It is anticipated that Senior Research Investigator will assist with preparation of conference presentations and with preparation of drafts of manuscripts to submitted to peer-reviewed journals. Desired individual will both plan experiments, troubleshoot commonly occurring problems and should be able to interpret data quality and results.
