Supervisor, Logistics & Facilities
The Opportunity
This position works out of our Gainesville, FL location in the Abbott Heart Failure, Acelis Connected Health business. Our Heart Failure solutions are helping address some of the World’s greatest healthcare challenges.
As the Supervisor, Logistics & Facilities , you’ll have the chance to Supervisor and manage the Gainesville Logistics team.
Ensuring that customers receive the highest quality products in a timely and efficient manner. Managing the inventory levels, providing input to the procurement teams, and reducing operating costs.
This role will also manage the facility maintenance, safety, business continuity planning, and emergency response planning for the office and warehouse buildings.
Principle Responsibilities

- Oversee and supervise logistics team. Including inventory receipts, customer orders, inventory controls, and reducing expired products.
- Maintain order processing, On Time in Full, and delivery based on company goals.
- Supervise ordering of packaging material, such as boxes, tape, etc.
- Provides input to and ensures employee compliance with company policies and practices.
- Optimize space and inventory footprint to ensure high space optimization and reduced waste.
- Serve as primary contact for site maintenance and repairs. Coordinate repairs and maintenance with landlord and vendors as needed.
- Implement and monitor Employee Health and Safety (EHS) programs on site in accordance with company policy.
- Coordinate Business Continuity Planning for the site to be utilized in times of business interruption.
- Develop, implement, and maintain emergency response planning policies for the site. Including fire drills, first aid, and other emergency situations defined in company policies.
- Maintains a safe working environment by training staff to become familiar with safety hazards.
- Ensures that department personnel are updated on and advised on new or changed processes, procedures, and policies.
- Support all Company initiatives and complies with Joint Commission regulations, other regulatory requirements, company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.
- Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Two to Four years Supervisory experience in Logistics & Facility Management or related fields.
- Medical device distribution and medical facility experience.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to work within warm and hot conditions while wearing safety clothing and equipment
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. consistently through a shift to safely move equipment or supplies
- Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time while working at a computer workstation or assisting in other tasks
