Job Description :
As the Environmental Planning Director, you will be responsible for leading our environmental planning team in developing and implementing strategies to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, mitigate environmental impacts, and promote sustainable practices in land use and development projects.
Key Responsibilities :
- Strategic Planning : Develop and implement comprehensive environmental planning strategies aligned with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
- Project Management : Oversee environmental planning projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery within budget constraints.
- Team Leadership : Provide guidance and mentorship to a team of environmental planners, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Regulatory Compliance : Stay abreast of relevant environmental regulations and ensure project compliance with federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations.
- Stakeholder Engagement : Collaborate with clients, government agencies, community organizations, and other stakeholders to facilitate consensus-building and ensure project success.
- Environmental Impact Assessment : Conduct environmental impact assessments (EIAs) to evaluate the potential environmental effects of proposed development projects and recommend mitigation measures.
- Sustainable Development : Promote sustainable land use and development practices, including green infrastructure, renewable energy, and resource conservation.
- Policy Advocacy : Advocate for policies and regulations that promote environmental conservation and sustainable development at the local, regional, and national levels.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in environmental planning, urban planning, environmental science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental planning, with demonstrated expertise in project management and team leadership.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, including NEPA, CEQA, and other relevant laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to diverse stakeholders.
