**In accordance with City of Seattle guidelines, this role's hourly rate will increase to $22.14 on January 1st, 2027.

Dates of Employment and Hours Worked:

This role is expected to receive up to 40 hours per week for the dates November 2, 2026 - May 28, 2027. Work hours and end date may fluctuate based upon total work required.

Work Environment:

SIFF requires employees reside and complete work duties within Washington State. This is a hybrid work role with a minimum of 2 days in the office located at our admin offices.

This position will work onsite at specified theater/s & offices. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, and office duties are conducted in an open environment.

SIFF is a Seattle-based 501(c)(3) arts nonprofit dedicated to the creation of vibrant experiences and spaces that champion film discovery and arts education. Beginning in 1976 with the annual Seattle International Film Festival, then expanding into year-round programming, SIFF envisions a thriving arts ecosystem where film discovery encourages a more empathetic, joyful, and connected world. In its three theaters, SIFF offers screenings and special programs throughout the year. Each role is a reflection of SIFF’s mission and commitment to the community to share vibrant films and help audiences engage in the enjoyment of film.

Job Summary:

The Festival Programming Assistant is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day administrative needs of the Festival Programming Department while communicating with all appropriate parties, both internally and externally to the organization, to ensure seamless planning and reporting for the annual Seattle International Film Festival.

Programming Data Entry (Nov - Apr)

• Work with the Festival Program Manager to ensure that SIFF 2027 programmers have all necessary information and support
• Manage team of Festival pre-screening viewers
• Manage submissions, including FilmFreeway access, creating discount codes, answering questions sent to entries@siff.net, and tracking numbers and films watched
• Input data into film database about other festival programming
• Participate in all programming meetings

Festival Programming Coordination (Dec - May)

• Prepare programming board and materials for SIFF 2027 scheduling
• Enter pre-show, trailer, and introduction information into database
• Schedule introductions for film screenings, adjusting or filling in as needed

Materials Coordination (Mar - Apr)

• Assist in gathering and organizing materials from filmmakers for use by Marketing, Publications, and PR

Jury Assistance (May)

• Organize SIFF 2027 Jury members (15-20 people), including initial travel arrangements, and work with Guest Relations to make sure all information is correct and available
• Prepare daily schedule for SIFF Jury Members while they are at the festival
• Ensure all jury members have links to view the films in competition
• Prepare awards for shipping and complete award paperwork

Other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Onsite availability beginning 11/2/26 and ending no later than 5/28/27
• 1-2 years experience with data entry
• Proficient using Google Suite and Microsoft Office
• Prior experience in some aspects of Film Festivals
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Demonstrated commitment to racial equity and social justice

• This is a full-time FLSA overtime non-exempt position

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
