Responsibilities
The Psychiatric Institute of Washington provides comprehensive behavioral healthcare for adolescents, adults, and senior adults suffering from mental health and addictive illnesses.
PIW is a bed, short-term, acute care hospital offering inpatient, partial and intensive outpatient hospitalization, as well as specialized treatment programs for chemical dependency.

Responsibilities
- Documents progress notes for group sessions with patients / clients, which indicate date and length of session, discussion / treatment and patient responses.
- Develops and conducts, in conjunction with treatment team, special focus groups as determined by identifying patient’s population needs.
- Informs relevant team members of new developments that may impede length of stay or create barriers to discharge.
- Adheres to the philosophy and mission statement of PIW.
- Coordinates the scheduling of his / her groups with Director of Clinical Services to meet hospital needs

Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related discipline from an accredited graduate school
Graduate Clinical Licensure (LGPC, LGSW or related clinical discipline) in the District of Columbia is Required. Full Clinical Licensure in the District of Columbia as an LICSW, LPC or Licensed Psychologist preferred.
- Minimum one to two years’ experience in delivery of direct clinical services in a behavioral health setting; some portion of which must have included treatment of substance use and Trauma conditions;
- Superior verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of hospital systems, including intake / admission procedures, experience working with third party payers preferred, but not required.
Experience in outpatient, inpatient and partial hospital work preferred
