Position Title Assistant Teaching Professor Theology Faculty Type Non Tenure Track Fulltime Office / Department Theology Work Environment Onsite Location Evergreen Main Campus If Temporary or Visiting, Estimated End Date : Position Duties THE DEPARTMENT OF THEOLOGY AT LOYOLA UNIVERSITY MARYLAND invites applications for a Teaching Faculty position with administrative responsibilities as Director of Program Operations in the Master of Theological Studies (MTS) program.

The person hired for this position will be responsible for (1) teaching five courses per year, primarily in the undergraduate program, including the introductory course Theology Matters (a basic introduction to Christian theology and Scripture required of all undergraduate students);

2) administering student academic services including management of academic program data; and (3) serving as a recruitment liaison with Records, Graduate Admissions, Financial Aid, Enrollment Management, and Marketing and Communications.

The position entails a 10-month contract, however some work is required over the summer and will be compensated with a stipend.

  • Required Qualifications : (1) an earned doctorate (Ph.D. or Th.D.); (2) strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching, including an appreciation of or engagement in high-impact practices;
  • 3) strong organizational and communication skills; (4) the ability to create a sense of inclusion and belonging in the classroom and among students enrolled in the MTS program;
  • 4) the ability to contribute to the educational mission of Jesuit higher education.Preferred Qualifications : (1) experience and demonstrated success in teaching undergraduate and graduate students;

2) experience in an administrative role, preferably in higher education, and / or program coordination experience; (3) knowledge and mastery of Microsoft Office Suite, as well as aptitude for learning University applications / software (e.

g., WebAdvisor, SharePoint, WebNow); (4) a spirit of flexibility, teamwork and professionalism; (5) excellent time-management, communication skills and attention to detail.
