California Hematology / Oncology Physician Job Details

Location : Eureka, CA 95501 – Northern California healthcare jobs with access to stunning natural beauty, outdoor recreation, and a welcoming community.

Assignment Type : Locum Tenens Physician

Start Date : February 1, 2026 (March start possible if credentialing is delayed)

Duration : Ongoing locum tenens contract

Schedule : Full-time, 5 shifts / week, 4 weeks / month

Shift Hours : 8-hour days (9 : 00am–4 : 30pm, 1-hour lunch)

Call : 1 week out of every 3 (evening phone call coverage weekdays, 24-hour phone call weekends; no onsite call backs)

Patient Volume : 12–15 patient encounters per shift

Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $13,500 - $14,460

Hematology / Oncology Physician Qualifications

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology / Oncology (minimum Board Eligible required)

Active California medical license (California oncology jobs)

BLS certification required

Minimum 2 years of recent inpatient clinical experience in hematology / oncology

Ability to explain any gaps in clinical activity greater than 3 months

Fellowship in Hematology / Oncology required

Clean file preferred for expedited credentialing

Physician Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive hematology and oncology care in a clinic attached to a chemo treatment center and hospital

Manage a diverse patient population with approximately 500 analytic cases annually

Conduct patient consultations, develop treatment plans, and coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams

Participate in scheduled call coverage (phone only, no onsite call backs)

Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters

Collaborate with nursing and clinical support staff to ensure high-quality patient outcomes
