We are currently on the hunt for a seasoned Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic team in the construction industry. This is a permanent position that requires a unique blend of skills, a high level of attention to detail, and a passion for numbers. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2+ years of experience in payroll processing, with a deep understanding of UKG, Multi-State, Wage Garnishments, and payroll taxes. Responsibilities :

As a Payroll Specialist, you will be entrusted with the following responsibilities :

1. Manage and execute end-to-end payroll operations for our multi-state workforce, ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time.

2. Utilize UKG payroll software to maintain accurate payroll records, including employee data, hours worked, wage rates, deductions, and garnishments.

3. Stay updated with changing payroll tax laws across multiple states and ensure our company’s compliance with these laws.

4. Handle wage garnishments, levies, and other special payroll deductions, ensuring accurate and timely processing.

5. Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to resolve payroll discrepancies and provide relevant payroll reports.

6. Assist with year-end tasks such as W-2 distribution and tax reporting.

7. Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues or discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.

8. Conduct regular audits of our payroll system to ensure accuracy and integrity of data.

Qualifications :

To be successful in this role, you will need the following qualifications :

1. A minimum of 2+ years of experience in payroll processing, preferably in the construction industry.

2. Proficiency in UKG or similar payroll software.

3. Extensive knowledge of multi-state payroll tax laws and wage garnishments.

4. Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

5. Strong numerical skills and the ability to handle large volumes of data.

6. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex payroll issues.

7. Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex payroll information clearly.

8. A high level of professionalism and the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.

9. A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
