The Office for Responsible Outside Interests (OROI) at the University of Arizona is in search of a Liaison, Office for Responsible Outside Interests (Compliance & Regulatory Affairs Pro III).

The primary purpose of this position is to (1) serve as OROI's policy point of contact, (2) provide verbal and written policy guidance to the University community, and (3) develop strategic plans of action to close knowledge gaps and reduce confusion on compliance with the University's Conflicts of Interest & Commitment Policy.

The Office for Responsible Outside Interests' goal is to align outside interest and activities with UArizona's mission to disseminate knowledge through teaching, research and public service in a way that ensures transparency, integrity and public trust.

OROI is responsible for ensuring conflicts of interest and commitment are mitigated and promoting objectivity in research.

Duties & responsibilities :

Use of knowledge of federal regulations, state law, UA and ABOR policies, and practical knowledge to serve as contact for policy interpretation;

develop and communicate policy as point of contact for DisclosureH.

Use practical knowledge to conduct periodic reviews to assess the campus community's understanding of policy requirements;

provide trainings related to conflict matters.

  • Use practical knowledge to draft provide quarterly reports to Director and assist in preparing stakeholder reports.
  • Use of knowledge of federal regulations, state law, UA and ABOR policies, and practical knowledge to review disclosure certifications for conflicts of interest and commitment.
  • Additional duties may be assigned.

Knowledge, skills & abilities :

  • Knowledge of conflict regulations and laws.
  • Knowledge of electronic systems, including knowledge of system design, testing and implementation.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to independently prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to independently apply polices and procedures to varying fact patterns.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, in a professional manner to various stakeholders, including leadership and individuals outside of the University.
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required. Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with use of policies, procedures and terminology of assigned function.
  • Experience with maintaining a high level of discretion and confidentiality.
